Job summary

Setting Out Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Principal Designer (CDM) to lead health and safety coordination in the pre-construction phase across a varied portfolio of projects.

This role requires extensive CDM 2015 experience and strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, with the ability to advise clients, designers and contractors on CDM responsibilities. Location is flexible within Yorkshire region, with a competitive package including a company car.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as Principal Designer under CDM 2015.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Broad project and client experience in the construction or property sectors.
• Ability to advise clients, designers and contractors on CDM responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the statutory role of Principal Designer in accordance with CDM 2015.
• Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety throughout the pre-construction phase.
• Identify foreseeable design and construction risks.
• Ensure risks are eliminated, reduced or controlled through design.
• Coordinate and facilitate cooperation between designers and project stakeholders.
• Ensure relevant pre-construction information is effectively communicated.
• Liaise closely with contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide professional advice on CDM compliance and design risk management.
• Promote best practice in construction health and safety.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Monitor projects against agreed programmes and timescales.
• Work within agreed project budgets and fee constraints.
• Follow relevant quality, risk and health & safety procedures.
