Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions are assisting a UK water sector client to recruit Principal Design Engineers across Electrical, Mechanical, Process and Civil disciplines. Flexible UK-wide location with ~3 days on site per month, permanent or freelance (PAYE only).

You will lead multidisciplinary projects from concept through construction and handover, mentoring teams and ensuring safe, compliant engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• We are seeking Principal Design Engineers with a strong design background in Electrical, Mechanical, Process or Civil disciplines.
• Significant experience delivering engineering design within the UK water and wastewater sector.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities; health, safety, quality and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of complex Electrical, Mechanical, Process or Civil Engineering solutions across water and wastewater projects.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Produce, review and approve discipline designs, calculations, drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Identify and manage technical risks and resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Mentor and support engineers, developing technical capability across the business.
