Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in Solihull to lead concept development and design of high-performance motors and controllers for aerospace projects. You will ensure design assurance, support reviews and maintain technical integrity across teams.

The role offers hybrid working after training, 37 hours weekly, and a 6-month contract with potential extension or permanency. Start date October 2026. Pay £60/hour via Umbrella.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in building successful design engineering teams.
• Strong background in delivering rapid prototype concept designs and flight-standard high-tech products.
• Aerospace experience with substantial responsibility.
• Familiarity with design assurance processes and airworthiness requirements.
• Understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing methods.
• Proficient in configuration control management and effective communication.
• Ability to deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences.
