Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Design Engineer with expertise in temporary works and scaffold design. Based in Watford, you will lead the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient engineering solutions on major civil infrastructure projects. This is a key role requiring both technical depth and leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient engineering solutions on major civil infrastructure projects (temporary works and scaffold design).
  • Provide technical leadership to design teams and site engineers to ensure design integrity and successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure designs meet project constraints, sequencing, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master\'s preferred).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or actively working towards it.
  • Proven experience in scaffold and temporary works design, with strong knowledge of TG20:21, SG4:22, BS EN 12811.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (e.g. STAAD Pro, Tekla Tedds).
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, CDM regulations, and site constraints.
