Job summary

QinetiQ Group plc is seeking a Principal Senior Technical Architect - IT Platforms to shape, design and govern defence-grade IT and mission systems. You will work across cloud, edge, data platforms and secure networks, ensuring architectures meet MOD and NATO standards while aligning with strategic growth.

The role requires collaboration with military users, programme managers and engineering leads to translate operational needs into robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Extensive experience architecting secure, complex systems in defence or regulated sectors.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end architectures for National Security and Defence IT platforms.
• Lead architectural governance with MOD standards and NATO frameworks.
• Shape technical roadmaps across cloud, edge, data platforms and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with military users, programme managers and engineering leads.
• Provide architectural oversight from bid to in-service support.
