Job summary

The Alan Turing Institute is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to apply AI, machine learning and advanced analytics to national security challenges. You will work with a cross-disciplinary team, lead on technical projects and engage with senior stakeholders across the Institute and with partners.

Eligibility for DV security clearance is essential, with current or recent DV clearance highly desirable. The role offers a permanent, full-time contract with a flexible hybrid working arrangement

Job description

This position is working within the Turing Integrated Research Engineering (TIRE) team to support the Turing’s national security partners though developing AI and Data science solutions. It will work across a cross-disciplinary team, developing new projects and authoring research proposals. This position will contribute to team research and tool testing, and is expected to provide to lead on multiple technical projects. A large portion of the role is to represent TIRE to internal and external stakeholders as well as supporting the career development of staff within the group.

You'll combine deep technical expertise with strong software engineering practices, thrive in collaborative multidisciplinary environments, and confidently engage with senior stakeholders across the Institute and with our partners. Terms and Conditions

This full-time post is offered on a permanent basis. The annual salary is £82,500 plus an excellent benefits package including private medical insurance, 10% employer pension contribution, flexible hybrid working and family friendly policies - full details can be seen here.
