Job summary

Vortexa seeks a Staff/Principal Data Scientist to own and advance production-grade AI/ML solutions in the energy data platform. You will design, implement and deploy models, collaborating with analysts, traders, and engineers to deliver real-time insights and predictions.

You will lead complex projects, mentor the data science team and guide research-to-production work while aligning with energy market needs and regulatory concerns.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex Data Science/ML/AI projects across teams.
• Strong theoretical and mathematical foundations in ML/AI.
• End-to-end ML lifecycle ownership: design, development, validation, deployment, monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontier ML problems with clearly defined success criteria.
• Improve live production models and predictions across pods.
• Own projects end-to-end from exploration to long-term maintenance.
• Translate cutting-edge research into practical, deployable solutions.
• Mentor analysts and engineers; raise team capability and standards.
• Lead the Data Science Guild and set technical direction.
