ECOM are partnered with an exciting software development company based in Manchester who are looking for a Principal Data Engineer.
You will join an innovative technology company at the forefront of their industry. As a Principal Data Engineer, you'll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and continually improving their platform.
Role Overview:
Seeking a talented & experienced data engineer to help continue develop, shape, and innovate the data foundations across the business, which will positively impact the customer’s experience. As a principal in the team, you’ll be instrumental in the development of more junior colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and continually improve the data platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and data scientists, to integrate data architecture and pipelines across the business in an agile environment.
- Present and discuss data pipelines / practices to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in developing and deploying data engineering pipelines and products
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experienced in Hadoop, Kafka or Spark
- Experience leading / mentoring junior team members
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Operating with a hybrid business model, you'll be required to come into the Manchester office 3 days per week to collaborate with fellow colleagues.
For your hard work you'll receive a very competitive salary of up to £80,000 per year, stock options, private health insurance and much more.
