Job description

Principal Data Analytics Consultant

Salary: £85,000 to £110,000 (depending on experience). Up to 15% bonus.

Location: Remote – must be based within the UK. Occasional visits to see customers and the team.

Interview process: Two rounds: 1. Get to know you chat with the People Recruitment Manager; 2. Technical competency interview with the Hiring Lead and a Team Member.

Who Are We Looking For?

For the Principal Consultant role, a solid understanding of our core analytics tech stack and the ability to enhance solutions with strategic initiatives are essential.

Required Tools and Technologies:

• Microsoft Azure and cloud computing concepts or experience with other cloud providers
• SQL – writing complex, high-performance queries and understanding query execution across compute technologies
• DAX – to optimize semantic models
• Visualization Tools – Power BI, Tableau, Databricks AI/BI
• Unity Catalog, Purview, or other Data Governance tools

Preferred but Not Essential Technologies:

• Python – our primary language, but others are welcome
• Apache Spark – Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or other Spark engines
• Gen BI solutions - Co-Pilot, Databricks AI/BI Genie
• Distributed compute engines
• Analytics Engineering tools - Tabular Editor, dbt

Skills and Approaches:

• Agile project management
• Understanding customer needs and challenges
• Providing data strategy advisory services (Data Maturity, Data Governance, Data Culture)
• Delivering high-quality, business value-driven solutions
• Effective communication with clients and stakeholders
