Work You’ll Do

We are seeking a Security Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will combine data analysis, security research, and development skills to design and develop a platform capable of analyzing large datasets for security and compliance. Your cybersecurity expertise will help proactively identify and mitigate emerging threats, ensuring secure coding practices are integrated throughout the development lifecycle.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in software or platform development/engineering, including front end (web), mobile, back end, ad tech, or analytics dataflows.
• Proven experience in data management, building automated and scalable platforms for data-intensive applications.
• Experience handling large datasets and designing scalable, maintainable systems.
• Strong background in API development and architectural patterns like REST or gRPC.
• Programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages.
• Knowledge of data science concepts such as data preparation, exploration, modeling, and applying these to structured or unstructured data.
• Experience with data science tools such as Jupyter notebooks, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, numpy.
• Familiarity with API testing and security tools like Postman, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP.
• Knowledge of database management systems, especially MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with security and compliance frameworks and standards.
• Understanding of performance optimization for mobile applications, including memory, CPU, and network efficiency.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with OCI cloud services.
• Experience with machine learning or AI in security applications.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Knowledge of Software Assurance programs.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop a secure, high-performance platform for ingesting, parsing, and analyzing large volumes of API data stored in MySQL.
• Collaborate with internal and client teams to define and implement data rules and flows, creating an auditable tool.
• Conduct threat analysis to research, evaluate, and manage security threats and vulnerabilities in data flows.
• Work with architects and security teams to ensure the platform complies with security standards such as OWASP, NIST, ISO-27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and FedRAMP.
• Automate security and compliance controls for continuous monitoring and reporting.
• Perform MySQL queries to ensure data integrity and consistency.
• Develop dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
• Create tools to help engineering teams identify security weaknesses.
• Stay updated on the latest security trends and technologies to improve platform architecture and practices.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation on architecture, services, and decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
