Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd in Preston is seeking Senior and Principal Control Systems Engineers to support an early-stage nuclear programme. The role focuses on functional controls, functional safety and detailed control system design rather than software implementation.

The project is Siemens-based, with a design focus and technical leadership responsibilities. Immediate start, 12+ month Inside IR35 Umbrella PAYE, hybrid work with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.

Qualifications

• Control Systems / Automation Engineering background.
• Functional control and functional safety experience.
• Control system design, drawings, graphics and technical documentation.
• Experience within nuclear, power, process, defence or another highly regulated industry.
• Siemens experience advantageous.
• Principal Engineers should have experience providing technical leadership and design assurance.

Responsibilities

• Focus on functional controls, functional safety and detailed control system design rather than software implementation.
• Contribute to design assurance and technical leadership on an early-stage nuclear programme.
• Produce and supervise system drawings, graphics and technical documentation.

Location: Preston - 2 days office / 3 days remote

Rate: Senior £60-£65/hr | Principal £65-£75/hr

Contract: 12 months+ | Inside IR35 - Umbrella PAYE

Start: ASAP | Multiple positions

We are recruiting Senior and Principal Control Systems Engineers to support an early-stage nuclear programme.

The project is currently in the design phase, with a Siemens-based hardware and software platform being developed. The focus will be on functional controls, functional safety and detailed control system design, rather than software implementation.

Key Experience

• Control Systems / Automation Engineering background
• Functional control and functional safety experience
