Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Consultant to lead safety assurance and certification projects within the rail sector. The successful candidate will manage complex projects, contribute to safety assurance management, and support global infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead bidding, project delivery, and client collaboration for complex rail safety projects.
  • Support safety assurance management, safety approvals, and CSM work for major infrastructure projects such as the National Train Control Centre in Dublin, Crewe Hub remodelling, and East Coast Mainline.
  • Assist contractors with CSM and approval processes for station works.
  • Lead safety assurance efforts for new rail products, including high-speed points systems, axle counters, and signaling systems.
  • Work on international projects from the UK, with no travel required.
  • Manage multiple activities proactively and effectively across various projects.
  • Conduct interactive workshops with clients and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience in delivering safety engineering and assurance services for rail projects, familiar with standards such as EN50126, EN50129, IEC 61508, and CSM-RA.
  • Background in risk management, systems engineering, or safety engineering.
  • Experience in major rail infrastructure projects, preferably within the UK or consultancy sector.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and proactive workload management.
  • Ability to support business development through proposals and client engagement.
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
  • Experience in cybersecurity is a plus but not essential.
