Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Systems Security Engineering Principal Consultant to join Leonardo Cyber & Security Solutions Division. You will help our customers deliver and secure their solutions and products. Our Cyber Consulting practice works across sectors including Defence, Telecommunications, Energy, and Finance to secure national infrastructure in the UK and beyond. Our practice is certified by the UK NCSC to provide advice and guidance across all security domains, including Governance and Risk Management, Security Architecture, and Compliance.

This is a highly rewarding, hands-on role with exposure to traditional and cutting-edge IT, Electronics, and bespoke Operational Technology systems. It offers a clear pathway to chartership, NCSC certification, and greater responsibility. Your work at Leonardo will involve inspiring and leading teams to solve complex security challenges in an innovative, agile, and team-centric environment. We seek creative, passionate, technically savvy, and personable individuals to help grow our practice and enhance the UK's digital security landscape.

The role is based at our offices in Bristol or Luton (hybrid working), with travel to other UK locations as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Relate - Actively listen and empathize with customers to understand their problems.
  2. Understand - Define potential solutions based on experience and technical knowledge.
  3. Assess - Conduct risk assessments and establish governance structures to manage security risks.
  4. Treat - Define and implement security solutions across people, process, and technology.
  5. Assure - Perform assessments to ensure security compliance in regulated industries.
  6. Develop - Contribute to business-winning activities and product development.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in an Engineering-related discipline with at least 5+ years of delivery experience.
  • At least 2 recognized professional certifications in Cyber Security (e.g., Sec+, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, CASP, CEH).
  • Experience managing project delivery, including metrics like time, cost, and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders with empathy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-directed, with leadership experience in managing small teams of cyber security professionals.
  • Experience in cyber risk assessment activities, including threat modeling and vulnerability analysis.
  • Ability to decompose cyber requirements to system control levels.
  • Experience in conducting cybersecurity testing and evaluations.
  • Support business development by providing technical inputs and resourcing estimates.
  • UK SC Clearance or the ability to obtain it.
