Salary: GBP60000 - GBP80000 per annum

We are looking for a Principal Consultant to join a globally renowned consultancy within energy and oil & gas.

This is your chance to lead a team who are at the forefront of energy transition, offshore structures, and pipelines.

Competitive salary ranging from £60,000-£80,000 (depending on experience).

Location: Midlands

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead pipeline inspection, integrity management, and compliance (PSR, PSSR) efforts, including audits (e.g. MAPD, TD1) and Written Schemes of Examination.
  • Provide expert solutions for risk management, repair strategies, and inspection planning across transmission, distribution, and LNG systems.
  • Conduct site visits, support inspections, and lead HSE-related tasks, including action close-outs.
  • Lead bids, manage projects to ensure profitability, oversee sub-contractors, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Support proposal development, pricing, and client engagement to grow onshore pipeline and terminal integrity services.
What we are looking for:
  • Proven experience in senior technical roles such as Pipeline Technical Authority, Gas Responsible Person, or PSSR Competent Person.
  • Strong knowledge of PSSR and PSR legislation, compliance, and pipeline integrity management systems.
  • In-depth understanding of gas transmission, distribution, and LNG systems, including HSE standards and best practices.
  • Hands-on site and inspection experience across onshore pipeline and gas systems.
  • Chartered engineer or actively working towards chartership.
  • Degree-qualified in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, or currently pursuing qualification.
