Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our team as Principal Clinical Scientists in Bioinformatics (Operational and Research & Development). We are seeking team players who will provide scientific and managerial leadership in genomic testing, and undertake research to improve diagnostic efficiency, implement new technologies, and optimize resource use for complex genomic tests.

The Exeter Genomics Laboratory at Royal Devon University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust leads NHS genomic medicine, offering advanced diagnostic testing for families with rare diseases across the UK. We launched the national NHS rapid whole genome sequencing service for acutely unwell babies and children. Our team collaborates with an acclaimed research team specializing in diabetes and hyperinsulinism genetics, providing specialist tests worldwide. The lab partners with Bristol Genetics Laboratory as part of the South West Genomic Laboratory Hub, focusing on endocrine services and exome/genome analysis for rare diseases.
The lab is located in Exeter, set amidst Devon’s scenic countryside and close to beaches, with excellent transport links to the UK and Europe, and near Dartmoor and Exmoor.
Working hours
Full-time hours per week. Interview date: To Be Confirmed.
