We have a fantastic opportunity for aleadership role in our psychology team, with clinical expertise inneuropsychology. Part time hours would also be considered depending on thecandidate.
A qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (knowledge) isnecessary for this role, if the successful applicant does not already havethis, there would be support to complete this.
The post holder will have the autonomy to develop the role ofpsychology across the community pathway, whilst having the strong support ofClinical Psychologists already in the specialism, including a ConsultantClinical Psychologist, Principal Clinical Psychologists and Senior ClinicalPsychologists. There is a supportiveand encouraging culture within the service, promoting innovation and personaland professional development.
We have strong links with the Clinical Psychology Doctorate coursesin Leeds and Sheffield.

The postholder will take on the clinical leadership of the neuropsychological provisionacross Wakefield. The role will support the complexity ofdiagnosis for the growing number of referrals of younger people with suspecteddementia, as well as providing specialist neuropsychological assessment toinform the diagnostic pathway for anyone aged 18 and over. The post holder willneed specialist neuropsychological skills to support development of teaching,training, consultation and supervision to colleagues. The role will have aleadership function, considering the psychological support needs for peoplewith dementia, including formulation and specific post diagnostic support. Theywill liaise closely with colleagues in the third sector to consider how we can strategicallywork together to continue meeting the needs of people with dementia and theirfamilies. The role will also support thedevelopment of a care home pathway alongside other psychology colleagues in theservices. There will also be line management responsibilities within the psychologyteam.

Thepost holder will be involved with service development, research and audit inline with the service priorities
Thepost holder will be expected to supervise and support the psychologicalassessment and therapy provided by other psychologists and other clinicalmembers of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
Thepost holder will work in collaboration with professionals, carers and serviceusers offering advice, consultation and supervision as appropriate.
