Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Principal Clinical Psychologist to join their acute mental health service. The role is an exciting opportunity to develop clinical skills, leadership, and service development.
The post will provide the opportunity to support service users with intensive psychiatric care needs within an established psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) through direct work, consultation, formulation, supervision, and care planning. The successful candidate will support other staff on the ward, including CAPs, to deliver patient care within the MDT.

To provide a qualified, highly specialist clinical psychology service to service users of the psychiatric intensive care unit, Endcliffe ward. This includes providing highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy, as well as offering highly specialized advice and consultation on service users' psychological care to psychologist colleagues, non-psychologist colleagues, and non-professional carers.
The successful candidate will also provide clinical supervision to less experienced practitioner psychologists, therapists, assistants, trainees, or other professionals. They will be responsible for the coordination and organization of the work of other psychologists and clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
The successful candidate will have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, be HCPC registered, and have formal training in supervision of other psychologists. They will also have significant experience in working with acute mental health, risk, or behavioral distress, and experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
