Job overview
The Dual Diagnosis and Outreach Team (DDOT) was created with Community Mental Health Transformation funding to improve access to mental health services for clients with serious mental illness and multiple, complex needs who struggle to access services via formal routes.
The DDOT is a small team comprising a clinical lead, a senior nurse, and support workers. It functions as an outreach arm of the Primary Care Mental Health Service (PCMHS), working closely with GPs to facilitate access to mental health care.
Based in Peterborough Town Hall, most of their work involves outreach in the community—joining the Rough Sleeper Outreach team, engaging with clients at the Garden House drop-in centre for rough sleepers, or at Aspire, supporting clients with addictions.
The successful applicant will join a vibrant, well-integrated community of services committed to working collaboratively and expanding services for people with severe multiple disadvantages. There are numerous opportunities for career progression, including senior nursing roles within the Peterborough Stepped Care Model, aimed at promoting clinical excellence and improved patient care.
The Clinical Lead will provide clinical supervision and leadership, undertake complex assessments, liaise with partner agencies, and assist in team development and training. There will be opportunities to participate in MDT clinical meetings and training sessions with senior specialists.
Applicants should demonstrate strong clinical leadership skills and a commitment to working with this client group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a pilot project aimed at enhancing mental health outcomes in Peterborough.
