Job Description:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is three days per week 9am to 5pm and the salary is pro rata for part time hours.

A 22.2hrs vacancy for a B8A Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist has arisen within North East Glasgow Inpatient Psychology Service. You’ll join a small but experienced and dedicated psychology team working with colleagues from Nursing, Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy and Admin. Applications are invited from Clinical or Counselling Psychologists, registered (or eligible to register) with the HCPC. Experience in a psychiatric inpatient/rehabilitation setting is desirable, and/or experience of working with adult with complex mental health problems. The Inpatient Psychology Service at Stobhill Hospital delivers a high quality psychology service to several acute admission wards, a mental health rehabilitation ward and an intensive psychiatric care unit. The team comprises of this post and two part-time Principal Clinical Psychology staff (8C and 8B), and works closely with MDT staff across the site.

You’ll be an HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with experience in adult mental health, gained via training or post-qualification experience. You’ll be required to provide clinical placements to a range of trainees, including those undertaking the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, therefore you’ll have completed, or be eligible for, formal training in the supervision of others that is recognised by the DClinPsy programme.

The successful candidate will join the join the wider psychology department which brings together the North East Glasgow/East Dunbartonshire psychology department, providing access to a range of professional development and CPD opportunities.
