Job summary

NRL is seeking a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to join their Middlesbrough team on a 6-month, on-site basis. You will lead the civil and structural design effort, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams and ensure delivery to programme milestones.

The role demands Chartered status or working towards Chartership, strong design principles, and hands-on use of STAAD Pro. Collaborative environment offers exposure to infrastructure projects and career development.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (e.g., MEng or BEng).
  • Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body, or working towards Chartership.
  • Strong understanding of civil and structural design principles.
  • Familiarity with STAAD Pro or similar design and analysis software.
  • Knowledge of materials, construction processes and relevant industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare detailed civil and structural design documents, including layouts, reports and calculations.
  • Support Principal/Lead Engineers by reviewing and checking design deliverables.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to gather information for design development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to meet project milestones.
  • Produce technical documentation and reports, clearly communicating project progress.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and client requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively while delivering work on time and to specification.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough – on-site with some flexibility.

37 hours per week.
