Shape the future of infrastructure with Black & White Engineering.
At Black & White Engineering, we don’t just design infrastructure — we redefine what’s possible. We’re seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join our London team and lead the delivery of complex and high-impact civil engineering projects across the built environment.
This is a career-defining opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives on design challenges and innovation in roads and drainage systems. You’ll be at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure, applying engineering principles to deliver resilient, efficient, and buildable solutions.
As a technical leader, you’ll take ownership of projects from concept to completion, overseeing specifications, drawings, and contract documentation. You’ll ensure compliance with UK and international standards, integrating SuDS, highway design, and below-ground infrastructure into multidisciplinary designs. Your work will span commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
Collaboration is central. You’ll work with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams for coordination and delivery. You’ll also be a mentor to junior engineers, promoting technical excellence, curiosity, and continuous improvement. Your ability to manage budgets, change control, and programme accuracy will be key to client satisfaction.
We’re looking for a strong foundation in civil and structural design, experience in multidisciplinary teams, and proficiency in AutoCAD, NES, Cymap, and Microsoft Office. You’ll hold a BSc/BEng or HND/HNC, and ideally be a member of MCIBSE or MIET. Chartered status — or progress toward chartership — is desirable.
At Black & White Engineering, you’ll join a global consultancy that values integrity, innovation, and collaboration. You’ll work on challenging projects, contribute to strategic growth, and make a lasting impact on the built environment.
And when it comes to benefits, we’ve got you covered:
