Job description

Alfred Recruitment is currently partnered with a leading multi-disciplinary engineering firm in Cardiff. They have built a strong reputation and are recognized as industry leaders in South Wales. They now seek to expand their Civil Engineering leadership team by hiring a new Principal Civil Engineer. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone eager to lead major developments around Cardiff and South Wales, with significant personal development prospects.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about their work and projects. You will work closely with the Associate Director of Drainage Infrastructure and lead a dedicated team of engineers. The team handles varied, challenging projects across the infrastructure sector, with a strong focus on Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS). If you want to be part of a team that takes pride in its work and aims to make a meaningful impact on the local area, this role is worth considering.

Requirements for the role
  1. 7+ years of Drainage Engineering experience, including SuDS & Flood Risk
  2. A Civil Engineering Degree
  3. Near or achieved Professional Qualification with ICE or relevant body
  4. Experience with MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Civils 3D, and Autodesk ICM
  5. Knowledge of Water Authority statutory approval processes such as S104, S106, & SuDS Approval Body approval
  6. Understanding of Planning Policy and Infrastructure design requirements related to flood risk management
  7. Experience managing a team of engineers and optimizing their skills for efficiency
  8. Strong project management and delivery skills
  9. Ability to build relationships and engage with various stakeholders
