Job summary

RGB Recruitment in Cardiff is seeking a Principal Civil/Drainage Engineer to join their Civils/Drainage team on a range of commercial and industrial projects across South Wales and beyond.

The role covers infrastructure and drainage design using AutoCAD, Civil3D and MicroDrainage/Flow, with line management responsibilities within the team. Salary ranges from £50,000 to £65,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in potable, surface and foul water design.
• 3D design and modelling using MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.
• Familiar with Water Authority approvals (S104/S106).
• Involvement with SuDS processes.

Role Overview

A progressive, award‑winning consultancy based in Cardiff is looking to add a Principal Civil Engineer to join their Civils/Drainage team. Their well‑respected practice is growing steadily and is seeking an experienced engineer to become part of a busy design team, delivering a diverse range of commercial and industrial projects across South Wales and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure and drainage designs using AutoCAD, Civil3D and MicroDrainage/Flow
• Design and delivery of commercial, battery energy storage, water and renewable energy projects
• Preparation of Section Agreements (278/38/104) and technical drawings
• Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions
• Line management within the wider team

Skills Required

• Solid experience with potable, surface and foul water design and/or construction
• Adept at 3D design and modelling using software such as MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage
• Knowledge of Water Authority statutory approval processes such as S104, S106 and others
• Experience with SuDS Approval Body involvement
