Job summary

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is seeking a Principal Chartered Structures Engineer to lead the Structures section, directing a team of professional staff to ensure effective service delivery in line with policy, legislation, codes of practice and contractual requirements.

Principal Chartered Structures Engineer - (RE-1815)

Lead and manage a team of professional staff to ensure effective service delivery of the Structures section in line with the Council’s polices, relevant legislation, codes of practices and contractual requirements.

To act as lead officer for all structural related matters for the authority. The post holder will be responsible for the management and day-to-day service delivery in relation to structural inspections, assessments, monitoring and maintenance of Council assets such as bridges, retaining walls, pedestrian subways, disused coal tips and 4 reservoirs.

Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
