Job summary

LEV Recruitment Ltd seeks an experienced Principal CDM Consultant for a Derby-based role within a leading multidisciplinary consultancy. You will deliver expert CDM guidance, Principal Designer services and strategic health & safety support across diverse real estate and construction projects.

Applicants should have NEBOSH Construction, a diploma, GradIOSH/APS membership and proven Principal Designer experience, plus full UK driving licence.

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification)
• GradIOSH or equivalent professional membership
• Membership of the APS
• Proven experience acting as a Principal Designer
• Extensive knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
• Strong construction industry experience across a range of project types
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Deliver CDM and Health & Safety consultancy across multiple projects
• Safely carry out the Principal Designer role under CDM Regulations
• Advise on statutory responsibilities and H&S obligations
• Develop and improve CDM and H&S processes and procedures
• Prepare and review Pre-Construction Information and Health & Safety Files
• Conduct H&S audits, inspections and performance reviews
• Build relationships with clients and project teams
• Manage multiple commissions to meet quality, programme and commercial objectives
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client service
• Support BD by identifying opportunities with clients

Education

NEBOSH Construction Certificate

NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification)

GradIOSH or equivalent professional membership

Membership of the Association for Project Safety (APS)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal CDM Consultant to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy with an established reputation for delivering high-quality Health & Safety and CDM services across the built environment.

Based in Deby, you'll work on a diverse portfolio of prestigious projects, partnering with clients across the real estate and construction sectors to deliver expert CDM consultancy, Principal Designer services and strategic Health & Safety advice.

This role is ideal for an experienced consultant looking to take ownership of projects, build lasting client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of a highly respected consultancy.

The Role

As a Principal CDM Consultant, you'll provide expert guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations while delivering practical, commercially focused advice.

Working closely with clients, design teams and contractors, you'll help drive best practice in Health & Safety, manage project commissions and support the successful delivery of a wide range of developments.

Key Responsibilities of Principal CDM Consultant

• Deliver CDM and Health & Safety consultancy services across multiple projects.
• Undertake the Principal Designer role in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
• Advise clients on their statutory responsibilities and Health & Safety obligations.
• Develop and improve CDM and Health & Safety processes and procedures.
• Prepare and review Pre-Construction Information and Health & Safety Files.

About You

You'll be an experienced CDM professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and project teams.

Essential Requirements

• GradIOSH or equivalent professional membership.
• Membership of the Association for Project Safety (APS).
