We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent and a two year fixed term Principal Business Change Officer roles to join East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Corporate Business Change team. The posts will initially support the Adult Social Care's transformation programme, with flexibility to adapt to other change programmes and the councils priorities as required.

The role involves engaging directly with senior management teams across the organisation, providing business change consultancy and managing the delivery of a number of projects, working with stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure work is delivered to schedule and against the overarching strategic objectives of the Council.

You would be joining a well-respected team within the council, which has a track record of developing staff to enable them to further their careers.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, creative and has experience of successful delivery of transformation and change work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex business change projects, typically implementing business solutions to enhance service delivery, reduce costs and/or generate income.
  • Creating and maintaining project plans for business change projects that communicate tasks, milestone dates, status and resource allocation.
  • Engaging with stakeholders in appropriate and effective ways to ensure business buy in and successful outcomes.
  • Line Management of staff.

To be considered for the role, you will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of working within a fast-paced project management environment
  • Outstanding engagement skills and an excellent communicator
  • Ability to spot opportunities for improvement in process, systems and technology
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
