Job summary

A leading UK trust for waterway infrastructure is seeking a Principal Engineer (Highway Structures) to deliver technical expertise for the management of nearly 900 public road bridges. This remote-based role involves substantial responsibilities including asset management, inspections, and providing specialist advice to teams. Successful candidates will have relevant engineering qualifications and experience, along with solid knowledge of safety regulations. Qualifications

• Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent professional qualification.
• Substantial relevant experience in engineering works related to Bridges/Highway Structures.
• Extensive experience in engineering design and construction in water or transport infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure risk through asset management systems.
• Develop and implement Asset Management Strategies for highway structures.
• Ensure effective leadership of a team of engineers.

Skills

Chartered Civil Engineer (C.Eng MICE)

Experience in engineering works to Bridges / Highway Structures

Design and construction knowledge

Knowledge of CDM Regulations

People management experience

Education

Professional qualification equivalent to C.Eng
