Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior BIM Technician for Building Services in London. The role focuses on leading the production of fully coordinated BIM models, supporting design delivery, and mentoring junior team members.

You will produce high-quality Revit MEP models, manage clash detection, and ensure adherence to BIM Level 2 standards across infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, life sciences, and defence projects. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Building Services BIM Technician in a consultancy, contractor, or design environment.
• Strong understanding of building services systems, MEP coordination, and spatial requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP; proven ability to produce coordinated 2D and 3D design deliverables.
• Knowledge of BIM Level 2 standards and BIM implementation processes; familiarity with UK construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production of fully coordinated Building Services BIM models and related documentation.
• Create high-quality 3D Revit MEP models, schematics, general arrangements, and detailed drawings.
• Support engineers and project teams from concept through detailed design.
• Manage model coordination activities, including clash detection and resolution.
• Ensure BIM deliverables meet company, client, and industry standards.
• Review supplier/subcontractor models for technical compliance.
• Produce schedules, room data sheets, asset information, and COBie outputs.
• Support BIM environments, file structures, and naming conventions.
• Contribute to BIM standards, workflows, and best practice initiatives.

Rate: £45p/h

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the production of fully coordinated Building Services BIM models and associated documentation
• Creating high-quality 3D Revit MEP models, schematics, general arrangements, and detailed drawings
• Supporting engineers and project teams throughout the design lifecycle, from concept through to detailed design
• Managing model coordination activities, including clash detection and resolution
• Ensuring all BIM deliverables meet company, client, and industry standards
• Reviewing specialist supplier and subcontractor models and drawings for technical compliance
• Producing schedules, room data sheets, asset information, and COBie outputs
• Supporting project setup, BIM environments, file structures, and naming conventions
• Contributing to the development of BIM standards, workflows, and best practice initiatives
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions

Leadership & Mentoring

What You'll Bring

• Significant experience as a Building Services BIM Technician within a consultancy, contractor, or design environment
• Strong understanding of building services systems, MEP coordination, and spatial requirements
• Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP
• Proven experience producing coordinated 2D and 3D design deliverables
• Sound knowledge of BIM Level 2 standards and BIM implementation processes
• Good understanding of UK construction processes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
• Experience managing workloads and meeting project deadlinesStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• HNC, HND, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
