Principal Basis Specialist

Winchester (Hybrid - as and when required)

As our next Principal Basis Specialist, you will be the key individual responsible for managing all technical activities related to the SAP environment. Your role is to ensure the stable operation of the SAP landscape, including upgrades, migrations, and implementing best practices. Your remit is to work independently, take the lead with external support partners, and build strong internal relationships

.

Your day to day activities will include driving the Basis roadmap, managing all core operational components, and ensuring that SAP remains in a supported state. You will also be responsible for daily end-to-end Basis management, maintenance, support, optimization, and reporting to align systems with business and technical strategies.

The Principal Basis Specialist is an experienced hands-on professional with a background in various applications, databases, and operating systems. They must have experience with SAP BASIS projects, ideally in a public cloud architecture like AWS.

Experience with RISE with SAP projects and operating models is desirable.

The Key Requirements...

• Expert-level knowledge of SAP landscapes

• Minimum of 7 years SAP Basis experience

• Experience with DB2 and Hana DBs

• Experience with Public Cloud, AWS desirable

• Basis strategies, designing and implementing especially in relation to RISE with SAP

• Technically astute and inquisitive

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of SAP change and transport management processes.

• Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities

• Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance

• Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills

• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
