About Your Role

We are seeking a Principal / Associate Transport Decarbonisation Consultant based in any UK office. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising government bodies on decarbonising transport in line with carbon budgets and net zero targets
  • Collaborating with teams across Mobility and other disciplines to identify solutions for decarbonisation challenges and their impacts
  • Aligning transport decarbonisation with client policy agendas
  • Leading complex projects for high-profile clients, including developing new decarbonisation services and tools
  • Supporting staff with technical development, leadership, and quality assurance
  • Managing fee proposals and technical and commercial responses
  • Supporting business development and continuous improvement activities within the Transport Net Zero team
  • Fostering a collaborative, ‘carbon conscious’ culture and embedding best practices across the business

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in transport assessment, modelling, and carbon assessment methods, with a background in transport planning, modelling, or carbon assessment. A passion for climate change mitigation through transport decarbonisation is essential. Opportunities for skill development will be provided to align with your career goals.

Team Overview

The Transport Net Zero team comprises carbon specialists guiding clients through transport decarbonisation and integrating carbon considerations into transport planning. The team has authored government guidance, developed emissions models, and advised on regional and local decarbonisation strategies. What We Look For
  • Experience in technical leadership, project management, and client engagement
  • Background in transport planning, policy, or major scheme development
  • Ability to interpret and contextualise transport modelling outputs
  • Knowledge of Net Zero principles and carbon assessment (preferable)
  • Strong analytical and innovative skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for delivering Net Zero outcomes
