A global leader in high-end consulting and engineering services is seeking Principal/Associate Electrical Engineers to join their building services team in Belfast. This expert team offers comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering solutions, delivering design and installation services across various sectors, including Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Defence. With a long-standing presence in Northern Ireland, they have a proven track record of successfully completing large-scale projects throughout the region.

Your new role

In this role, you will lead and deliver multiple medium to large-scale projects, encompassing all facets of design within electrical engineering consultancy services. Your responsibilities will include undertaking calculations, producing drawings, specifications and reports, conducting site surveys, overseeing construction stage duties, providing client liaison, consulting with design/construction teams, and other duties to meet project briefs.

  • Conduct electrical services designs across various sectors, from concept to completion.
  • Produce detailed design calculations to support designs.
  • Create reports and specifications for electrical building services.
  • Produce design drawings.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess existing installations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during construction.
  • Mentor and guide junior to intermediate engineers.
  • Contribute to fee estimates and bid processes.
  • Support resource planning and manage team workload alongside directors.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status or willingness to pursue it.
  • Strong project management skills for building services projects from concept to handover.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with clients.
  • Understanding of project management and cost control.
  • Aspiring to lead and develop engineering teams.
  • Designs focused on energy conservation, sustainability, and renewable technologies.
  • Proficiency with digital tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Relux, Dialux, Amtech, NBS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
