Key Responsibilities:

- Specify standards, patterns, platform technology (e.g., API Gateways), API governance, and target state for effective at-scale market-unit-wide API management capabilities.
- Drive technical alignment across the API design community, including Enterprise, Solution Architecture, and Engineering, which spans multiple Business Units (BUs).
- Educate senior leadership (technology and business) to raise understanding of API-led technology architecture.
- Analyze industry trends to leverage technology and methodology advances.
- Set KPIs and perform progress tracking and reporting against target state and API controls.
- Participate in CTAO Leadership forums, conducting QA and Review of architecture deliverables and strategic API contracts.
- Serve as the single point of contact and escalation for architecture development across business units and with senior business and technology leadership.
- Communicate architecture direction and its alignment with business strategy and enterprise direction.
- Track progress and quality of architecture initiatives.
- Support business development activities and translate this to strategic API capability build for BGIUK’s Partnership strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
- Significant experience as an architecture practitioner with designing, operating, and evolving API-based systems, and redesigning applications to be API-driven.
- Experience in an architecture leadership role in a large organization servicing multiple internal business lines with both centralized and federated platforms.
- Expertise in modernizing large, complex API/microservices-based systems.
- Strong problem-solving, strategic, and creative thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Deep and current experience in API Operations and Security, API Traffic Management, and in designing, building, and testing APIs.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Proven track record of influencing, motivating, and developing technology and product teams without having direct line management responsibilities.
- Strong product design and development experience in a product-centric and agile environment.
