Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Principal Analytical Chemist to join a leading pharmaceutical company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Principal Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for being the subject matter expert for the organic or inorganic testing facility, training junior staff, and helping progress the laboratory through analytical testing and development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Support the department’s maintenance plans for analytical equipment and specialized instrumentation, ensuring regular in-house maintenance and cleanliness.
  2. Create and implement business improvement ideas to enhance analytical capabilities, service quality, and instrument availability, while minimizing rework and inquiries.
  3. Examine and implement unconventional approaches and data creation in line with client and company requirements.
  4. Provide ongoing training to the organic/inorganic laboratory team.
Role Requirements

To be successful, candidates should possess:

  1. A relevant degree in a science-related field, preferably Chemistry.
  2. Proven industry experience using GC & GCMS or various ICP detectors.
  3. Working knowledge and practical experience with ISO 17025:2017 guidelines.
