We model full road transport deployment by drivetrain and the battery technologies, components and raw materials needed to get there. We interpret road transport policies, assess new battery and electro-mobility technologies and analyse activity across the battery value chain. Our proprietary scenarios, from the Delayed Transition to our Net Zero view, are key components of our broader energy outlooks, where our country-level modelling reflects country pathways under different energy scenarios.
Outside the Fundamentals team, we work with Wood Mackenzie’s Battery Raw Material teams (part of our Metals & Mining team), who provide industry-leading analysis on the key mined commodities; our Energy Storage team to understand other sources of battery demand; and our Grid Edge and Emissions team, who cover charging networks and emissions-related analysis.
