Principal AI Engineering Lead
Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Principal AI Engineering Lead to spearhead the development of next-generation AI applications across multiple products and initiatives. This senior role combines cutting-edge AI expertise with full-stack development and team leadership to build and scale multi-agent systems and multimodal AI capabilities that will define the future of intelligent software.

Key Responsibilities

AI System Architecture & Development

• Design and implement sophisticated multi-agent AI systems that can reason, plan, and collaborate autonomously
• Build full-stack AI applications from concept to production, handling both backend orchestration and user-facing interfaces
• Architect workflow management systems that coordinate multiple AI agents with complex state management and task delegation

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Product Development

• Partner with product, design, and infrastructure teams across multiple product initiatives to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Drive technical decision-making and provide guidance on AI technology selection and architecture across diverse project portfolios
• Coordinate engineering efforts across multiple concurrent AI products and ensure alignment with business objectives

Technical Leadership & System Design

• Lead the design of scalable, production-ready AI infrastructure with emphasis on reliability and performance
• Implement advanced prompt engineering strategies and reasoning frameworks to optimize AI system performance
• Design persistent memory systems and context management for long-running AI workflows
• Establish best practices for AI system monitoring, debugging, and performance optimization

Multimodal AI Integration

• Integrate and orchestrate cutting-edge large language models across multiple modalities (text, speech, vision)
• Develop robust pipelines for speech recognition, document analysis, image processing, and content generation
• Design and implement intelligent tool selection and routing systems for optimal AI model utilization
  

Required Experience

Technical Expertise

• Strong background in software engineering with experience building production applications
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with modern LLM applications and AI system development (since the emergence of practical LLM applications)
• Proven track record developing and deploying multi-agent AI systems or complex AI workflows
• Extensive experience with modern LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) and multimodal AI capabilities
• Expert-level skills in AI orchestration frameworks and workflow management tools
• Strong proficiency in full-stack development with modern frontend frameworks

Modern Development Practices

• Proficiency with AI-powered development tools and workflows (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.)
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and AI-specific services
• Knowledge of containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable deployment patterns for web and mobile
• Understanding of database systems, state management, and mobile-optimized architectures for AI applications

Leadership & Team Building

• Demonstrated experience building and leading technical teams from the ground up
• Proven ability to scale engineering organizations and establish technical culture
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional product initiatives
• Excellent English communication skills with ability to explain complex AI concepts to diverse audiences across different time zones
• Track record of recruiting, mentoring, and developing senior-level engineering talent
• Strong remote leadership experience with ability to build culture and drive results in distributed teams
  

Preferred Experience

• Deep familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and cutting-edge developer tooling
• Knowledge of mobile-specific AI frameworks and performance optimization techniques
• Experience with real-time AI systems and streaming interfaces across web and mobile platforms
• Background in enterprise AI deployment, monitoring, and governance
• Knowledge of advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures
• Experience with edge deployment and model optimization techniques
• Open-source contributions or published research in AI/ML
• Experience with AI safety, alignment, and responsible AI practices
• Proven track record of success in remote work environments and distributed team collaboration
  

Technical Skills

• Languages: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Swift/Kotlin (for native mobile), with adaptability to emerging AI-focused languages
• AI/ML: OpenAI GPT models, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, custom model integration
• Frontend & Mobile: React, React Native, Flutter, modern JavaScript frameworks, real-time UI frameworks
• Mobile Development: iOS/Android native development, cross-platform frameworks, mobile AI optimization
• Cloud: AWS/GCP/Azure AI services, serverless architectures, managed AI platforms, mobile backend services
• Data: Vector databases, traditional databases, caching systems, mobile-optimized data sync
• DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, mobile CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and observability tools
• AI Development Tools: Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and other AI-powered development environments
