Purpose of Job
The Principal, Agile Delivery Manager will coordinate and lead up to 6 agile teams in a Capability area to deliver an ERP Transformation project, ensuring adherence to standards and practices. This role involves delivery management and participation in the community of practice set by the AD, Agile Delivery Manager.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Oversee delivery governance, including stage gates, budget, financial controls, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Scrum teams and Product Owners to develop delivery roadmaps aligned with value.
- Coordinate with senior management and project stakeholders to align resources and deliverables.
- Manage cross-functional teams to plan and deliver initiatives iteratively.
- Ensure initiatives are well-resourced with appropriate skills.
- Follow and uphold standards set by the Agile Delivery practice, managing risks and issues.
- Maintain high-quality project artefacts and visible delivery metrics.
- Align methodologies with department standards and determine suitable practices for successful delivery.
- Engage with project sponsors and stakeholders to inform and drive outcomes.
- Support business case development and enhance agile practices across teams.
- Contribute to the community of practice for Agile Delivery Managers.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Significant experience in:
- IT or related degrees or equivalent experience.
- Leading large SAP-enabled transformation programmes.
- Managing blended, geographically dispersed delivery teams using agile methodologies.
- Implementing phased delivery with multiple releases.
- Using SAP Activate methodology.
- Managing suppliers and internal teams under fixed contractual models.
- Deployments in SAP cloud environments.
- Stakeholder management and senior leadership communication.
- Practitioner knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and lean methodologies.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
- Resilience and a proven track record in delivering large-scale agile programmes (£10m+).
- Understanding procurement and commercial arrangements.
