Overview

A mission-driven technology company in the life sciences sector is seeking a Principal Scientist - hands-on ADMET modelling, ML engineer to lead its ADMET modelling efforts within its drug discovery platform. The organization facilitates collaborative model development across partners while ensuring data privacy and ownership through a federated data infrastructure.

This role involves working at the intersection of machine learning, computational chemistry, and applied research to advance drug discovery models. You will be the technical authority on ML architecture, experimentation, and strategy, influencing technical direction without people management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the design and implementation of ML solutions for ADMET, utilizing techniques such as graph neural networks and transformers.
2. Develop and extend models for data distillation, benchmarking, and evaluation.
3. Define preprocessing and harmonization strategies for diverse assay datasets used in ADMET modeling.
4. Contribute to scientific publications or open-source software when appropriate.

Milestones

1. By Month 3: Own an ADMET modeling stream and deliver a structured experimentation roadmap for a key use case.
2. By Month 12: Lead multiple ADMET ML initiatives with measurable performance improvements and real-world impact. Serve as a strategic technical voice within the team.

Experience & Qualifications

• PhD in computational chemistry or equivalent
• 5+ years of drug discovery experience
• Hands-on ADMET modelling experience across a broad scope
• Proven experience building ML models on public and internal pharma datasets
• Confidence in developing in silico models
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
• Experience working in consortia is a plus
