Job summary

Pertemps Bond is recruiting for a Principal Transport Planner (Active Travel) to lead a high-profile active travel programme in a London local authority. The role focuses on cycling, walking, cycle infrastructure, micromobility, e-bikes and behaviour-change initiatives.

The post is a long-term interim contract with hybrid working (2 days in office per week). You will oversee major schemes, manage relationships with operators, procurements and performance, and report to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in active travel planning and delivery.
• Strong track record of delivering cycling and walking schemes.
• Experience managing micromobility programmes and operators.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the active travel strategy and programme.
• Oversee planning and delivery of cycling infrastructure and pedestrian facilities.
• Manage micromobility partnerships, contracts and performance.
• Secure external funding and manage budgets for active travel schemes.
• Provide technical transport planning advice to senior officers and stakeholders.
