A leading tutoring agency is looking for an experienced Primary Tutor to provide 1:1 tutoring in Preston. This part-time role involves supporting vulnerable students outside of mainstream education, requiring patience and empathy to create engaging learning plans. A minimum pay rate of £25/hr is offered, alongside flexible hours. Successful candidates will need QTS or equivalent experience, and compliance with UK working regulations.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of professional references.

Primary Tutor

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for an experienced 1:1 Tutor in Preston ideally with experience within a SEN setting. We are a Teaching Agency that strives to make a positive impact in young people's lives by supporting their development and education. Our Children's Education Team work with local authorities throughout the North-West to support vulnerable pupils currently outside of mainstream education. Subject areas include: Math, English, Science.

Position Details
  • Location: within the community or pupils home in Preston
  • Position: Primary Tutor
  • Type of work: Contract
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: ongoing support
  • Hours: 8am - 4pm (opportunities after school 3-4pm and evenings may occur)
  • Part-time
  • Minimum rate of pay: GBP25/hr
Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK

  • QTS or equivalent Tutoring experience
  • Experience working within a SEN setting (preferred, but not required)
Further Information

The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and be able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis. A therapeutic approach may also be needed to re-engage students with their learning. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports.
