Job summary

Fleet Education Services is seeking a Primary Tutor to support learners in and around the Oxford/Headington area with 1:1 and small group tuition. This role offers PAYE pay at £25-£30 per hour. You will deliver tailored lessons, assess progress, and coordinate with parents and schools.

A university degree and at least 6 months UK tutoring experience are required; DBS via Update Service preferred. Flexible hours, home or school settings, and ongoing CPD are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Level 6) required.
• At least 6 months UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience teaching Primary KS1/KS2 learners.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK without restrictions; DBS Update Service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver personalised lessons for English, Maths and other Primary curriculum subjects.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback to improve learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians and schools to support learner success.
• Maintain accurate session records via the virtual learning platform.
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting learners with SEN, SEMH and other complex needs.

We need passionate educators to meet growing demand for face‑to‑face tuition, delivered during school hours, typically in the learner’s home, school or at a local community venue.

What You’ll Need To Be a Tutor

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Level 6) qualification.
• Minimum of 6 months UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience teaching or tutoring Primary‑aged learners (KS1 and/or KS2 learners).
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK with no restrictions on working hours.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Please Note

• Flexible agency work with no minimum-hours commitment, you choose the assignments that fit your availability
• You will work through a contract for service and will be paid via PAYE.
• Any tuition placements you undertake with us will be covered by our insurance.
• Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete our safer recruitment process, designed with KCSIE in mind (Keeping Children Safe in Education).
