Primary Therapist – Serenity Zone Behavioral Health

The Primary Therapist serves as the main point of contact for each participant at Serenity Zone Behavioral Health. The role involves conducting individual and group therapy sessions, fostering long-term behavioral change through compassion, empathy, and therapeutic alliance, and assisting in aftercare planning. The Primary Therapist reports directly to the Clinical Director and participates in regular supervision sessions.

  • Partner with a multi-disciplinary team on assessments, client care planning, and treatment goals.
  • Ensure the safety of participants.
  • Create positive relationships with team members, participants, families, visitors, and the community.
  • Provide excellent customer service, compassion, and expertise when interacting with referents.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet weekly with assigned participants for individual counseling regarding their progress.
  • Conduct assigned group sessions.
  • Complete all charting and notes within specified time frames.
  • Participate in weekly clinical reviews with the clinical coordinator and staff.
  • Develop engaging and varied curriculum for assigned group topics.
  • Motivate participants in their early recovery stages.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement aftercare plans.
  • Provide crisis management when necessary.
  • Occasionally deliver in-house training to clinical staff.
  • Attend outside training and professional development opportunities regularly.
