St Patrick’s Primary School is situated in Stratford, East Gippsland, on the Princes Highway in the Shire of Wellington. Stratford has a population of over 3,000 and is a thriving town nestled on the banks of the Avon River on the lands of the Gunaikurnai peoples. The town services the local regional community and travellers. Stratford's principal industries are dairying, sheep, cattle and vegetable crops. The town has numerous coffee shops and cafes, including a cellar door.

St Patrick’s Primary School opened in 1864 and has a proud history throughout the region. Currently, St Patrick’s has an enrolment of 163 students and is richly blessed with a supportive community. Our teams work collaboratively, planning together and supporting each other to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

We have several positions available to commence at the beginning of the 2026 school year. These are a mixture of classroom teaching and specialist roles, which include PE and Language. Opportunities for full and part time positions are available.

Classroom Teacher:Full-time position (Fixed term – 12 months)

Commencement Date: 27 January 2026

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting student progress in key learning areas
  • Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
  • implement effective student management consistent with the school’s strategic plan
  • Salary earning, $79,589 - $118,063
  • Salary increases each January and July (Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited Schools and Secretariat Agreement 2022)

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • VIT registration
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School is an advantage.
  • Exemplary teaching practice with proven classroom management practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current educational needs and achievement standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including team building and mentoring skills.
