Job summary

Connex Education Partnership in Grimsby is seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a primary school setting on a supply basis. You will assist teachers, support learners one-to-one and in small groups, and help create an inclusive, engaging classroom where every pupil can thrive.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 months in a school setting (or 6 months in care) and is patient, reliable, and enthusiastic with strong communication and behaviour management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months’ experience in a school setting or 6 months in a care setting.
• Experience with children/young people in an educational environment.
• Patient, enthusiastic, reliable and committed to pupil development.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to adapt to the needs of different pupils and classrooms.
• Proactive, supportive and able to work well in a team.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check if required.
• Genuine passion for education and helping children reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, effective and inclusive lessons.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Creating a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment.
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs and behavioural challenges.
• Encouraging pupil participation, confidence, independence and progress.
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning resources preparation.
• Promoting positive behaviour and a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborating with teachers and staff to meet individual pupil needs.
