Job summary

Walliscote Primary School in Weston-Super-Mare is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils through whole-class learning, small group work and one-to-one interventions. You will help children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning while supporting their academic, social and emotional development.

The role requires NVQ/VRQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and experience with primary-aged children.

Qualifications

NVQ/VRQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience working with primary-aged children.
Knowledge of SEND, ALN, autism, ADHD and attachment needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive, flexible and proactive approach to supporting children's learning.

Responsibilities

Support pupils in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
Provide one-to-one and small group support, including for pupils with SEND and ALN.
Prepare learning resources and classroom displays.
Assist with assessment, marking and record-keeping.
Provide classroom cover when required.
Support pupils' wellbeing, behaviour and pastoral needs.
Assist with educational visits, school events and extracurricular activities.
Work collaboratively across all year groups.
