Job Description:

GSL Education Leicester is seeking a Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor to work in a Primary School, specifically in a Year 6 classroom. The role involves acting as a TA and covering classes in the teacher's absence.

Main Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise classes across the curriculum in the absence of a teacher.
• Ensure pupils engage with pre-planned work.
• Manage pupil behaviour to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Coordinate with staff regarding set work and resources.
• Provide feedback to the class teacher on attendance, engagement, and completed tasks.

Requirements for Success:

• Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher, or be a graduate considering a career in education.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training available).
• Willingness to undertake further training and professional development.
• Empathy for young people and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to various situations.
