Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant in Cwmbran to support pupils across primary schools. The role offers full-time, part-time, and flexible opportunities starting September 2026, with long-term and day-to-day supply work and a £90 per day rate dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will work 1:1 and in groups, assist teachers with lessons, promote positive behaviour, and support learners with additional needs while helping to create a welcoming, safe classroom

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people is essential (work, placement or volunteering).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist teachers with engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs where required.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.

The Role
