Job summary

The Woodlands Community Primary School is recruiting for a fixed-term Teaching Assistant role to support learning during term time, 16 hours per week. The core duties include assisting the whole class, guiding small groups and delivering one-to-one support, with lessons adapted to each child’s needs.

Ideal candidates will be able to work independently with groups, and show initiative within a team. DBS and online checks are expected, with fluent English required.

Qualifications

• Confidence dealing with pupils of different abilities.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a wider team.
• Up-to-date knowledge of basic assessment techniques.
• Ability to work alone with groups, directing and adapting lessons.
• Adaptable, flexible and resilient to day-to-day school life.

Responsibilities

• Assist the whole class.
• Take small groups of children.
• Work one-to-one with pupils and support them.
• Direct and adapt lessons to need and ongoing outcomes when working alone with groups.
