Job summary

GSL Education is seeking an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS2 in Southwark. You will work with teachers to deliver targeted literacy and numeracy activities, manage behaviour, and support wellbeing.

Ideal candidates will have KS2 experience, a clear DBS, and GCSEs in Maths and English. We offer reliable agency placements, supportive consultants, and competitive pay rates.

Qualifications

• Primary school experience working with children in KS2 is necessary.
• Clear Enhanced DBS check; we can help arrange one if needed.
• GCSEs in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom learning and behaviour management.
• Provide 1-to-1 and small-group support, including for SEND pupils.
• Assist with literacy, numeracy, reading and classroom activities.
• Prepare learning resources and help maintain an organised classroom.
• Supervise pupils during lessons, break times, lunch and school activities.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and pupil wellbeing.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff.

The ideal candidates will have previous experience working inKS2 in mainstreamprimary schoolsand be confident supporting pupils with their learning, development and day-to-day needs.
