A leading primary school is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support children from Nursery to Year 6 in a vibrant learning environment. This full-time position, term-time only, offers the chance to develop within a supportive staff team and may lead to teaching opportunities. Ideal candidates will possess at least GCSEs in English and Maths, with a passion for nurturing young learners.

An excellent opportunity to join a school in The Good Shepherd Trust academy within easy reach of Guildford and the A3. St Mark and All Saints have well-resourced classrooms and a supportive staff team.

If a route into teaching is your destiny, the school can provide a package to support this growth; we will mentor you and provide opportunities for further development.

The role will include responsibilities such as: supporting children’s learning (Nursery to Year 6), undertaking playground duties, preparing resources, assisting the class teacher as well as a lunch duty. There is also the possibility of additional hours working in our Wraparound care Treetops.

Salary: Grade B (£22,919) FTE (£17539.93 annually (actual))

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 32.5 hours per week term time only - (8:30am - 3:30pm)

What we are looking for:

GCSE grades of at least ‘C’ in English and Maths

The ability to read and write fluently and confidence in maths

Self-confidence, common sense and maturity

A good sense of humour and effective communication skills

Adaptability and enthusiasm

SEN experience (desirable but not essential)

Be confident to work with pupils from Nursery to Year 6

Closing date: Monday 30 June 2025 mid-day

Interview: Thursday 10 July 2025
