Make a Difference: Teaching Assistant Needed for Long-Term SEN Support


Are you a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting students with special educational needs?


A thriving primary school in Crawley is seeking an exceptional individual to join their team, starting January 2025.

What You'll Do:
  1. Provide individualized support to students with a variety of SEN, implementing tailored learning plans and strategies.
  2. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to student learning.
  3. Create a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and well-being.
  4. Maintain clear communication with parents, caregivers, and professionals involved in the student's care.
  5. Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting teaching strategies and support plans to meet individual needs.

What We're Looking For:
  • Proven SEN Experience: Experience working with students with SEN, including specific needs relevant to the school (e.g., autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities).
  • Passionate and Empathetic: A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and understanding their needs.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Patient and Understanding: Calm approach to working with students with diverse needs.
  • Resourceful and Creative: Ability to find innovative ways to support learning and overcome challenges.

Qualifications:
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
  • Relevant experience in a school setting is desirable.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • SEN experience is essential.
